I’m an author of two memoirs and live for a good story! I’m an INFJ, Enneagram 4, and my spirit animal is the buffalo. Traveling fills my cup like few other things do, and one of my greatest joys is anticipating my next big escapade. When I’m not wandering, I live in beautiful Asheville, North Carolina – the Jewel of the Blue Ridge. My favorite place in the world is the one where coffee and vulnerability meet.

I am the daughter of a Lumbee and Waccamaw Siouan woman and a man with Western European ancestry, born and raised in the Carolinas. Formerly serving as a missionary in Cambodia, listening to Keith Green’s music, being a member of several differently affiliated churches, and my 9th grade English class have all influenced my faith equally. When I’m not listening to podcasts about religion and culture, I am thrifting or frequenting karaoke bars. Showing hospitality and seeking kinship with believers are two things I am passionate about, and I invite you to do the same with me.

I have a slight southern accent, an addiction to sweet tea, and a smile on my face every time I hear James Taylor sing about “going to Carolina.” The older I get, I find myself resonating more and more with that old “Footprints in the Sand” poem. And I love reflecting and writing about all the whens and the ways God has carried me.
